Cauldron of Rebirth

When the Irish sailed to Britain
The giant king did say
"For the sake of peace,
With Branwen, you will lay
Efnysien, Efnysien
Why are you so cruel?
Payback for your evil deeds
Soon will come to you
So Bran said to Matholwch
For my brother’s evil deeds
I offer compensation
For your wounded steeds
I gift to you this cauldron
Brings the dead back as before
Your dead warrior’s will live again
But they will speak no more
So Branwen crossed the Irish sea
For her new life, she was bound
But all she found was misery
Being treated like a hound
She sent King Bran a letter
Being told of her abuse
He called upon his warband
Will they fight or make a truce?
The Britons armed for battle
In iron helm and mail
Loaded up their war ships
And to the seas set sail
But the giant king so mighty
No ship could contain
With his warrior’s ships behind him
To Ireland he swam
They came upon a river, bridge destroyed
The king told his men not to fear
“Let him who leads be a bridge this day
Walk over me, you soldiers, make your way”
Failed attempt to make peace
Efnysien, no fool to their trickery
Into the flames, young heir will die
Swords are drawn and war is nigh
Efnysien, Efnysien
Why are you so cruel?
Though you died for your country
And destroyed the cauldron’s brew
And the aftermath of war, though we try to escape
Will be back to haunt us
One day...
Oh, Pair Dadeni
They will speak no more

Desolate Kingdom
05:13

Companions four in bliss did dwell
Before the mysterious mist befell
They climbed upon the enchanted mound
Upon their return, not a soul in the town could be found
Rhiannon, a lady of much renown
Her love, Manawydan, she was bound
The darkness spread across the land
Their reality falls away like shifting sand
Desolation, they have lost their way
The isolation with the mind does play
The mist crosses the field
Rats destroy the crops, there is no yield
Oh, the darkness darkness does surround
Emptiness, it has found us
Only beasts and birds of flight
Humanity is lost from sight
The rats, the rats
A shining boar appears
Leading to the castle of darkest fears
Captured behind walls
The curse of Dyfed echoes through the halls
One day a mysterious mage
He does appear
Who are you, stranger?
You’re the first man I’ve seen in years
Free us from this curse
We’ve suffered long
Restore our land in peace
Give us release
Give us release

Wildflower Goddess

Wildflower goddess
Princess of the forest
Summoned by a wizard
From meadowsweet
Coming from the deep
Blodeuwedd, goddess
She would choose her own fate
In the huntsman’s hall
But the cursed one will fall
You will live as an owl of flight
No one can see you in the waning of the light
By oak and broom
And meadowsweet, Blodeuwedd rise
From the forest deep
Wildflower goddess
The lord and the wizard
Summoned from the earth
To defy the witch’s curse
Blodeuwedd, goddess
Born to live beside the unnamed one
But she’ll choose her own lover
Heart belongs to another
You will live as an owl of flight
No one can see you in the waining of the light
By oak and broom
And meadowsweet, Blodeuwedd rise
From the forest deep
Wildflower goddess
Child of the wizard
Your death is nigh
Rise to the sky
Blodeuwedd, goddess
No man controls her destiny
On the first of May
She shows her face
You will live as an owl of flight
No one can see you in the waining of the light
By oak and broom
And meadowsweet, Blodeuwedd rise
From the forest deep
